Patriots, Jets Engage In War Of Words

The New England Patriots are the favorites on the betting line for Super Bowl XLV even though we aren’t even in the championship round. That’s how much of a favorite they are to win the AFC and represent the conference in the Super Bowl.

But at least one team has something to say about that and they have plenty to say: the New York Jets.

Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie put the Pats on blast when he unloaded by using expletives to describe them.

In response to being insulted, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady didn’t take the bait. As per usual, he was surprisingly complementary in response and would not add fuel to the fire.

“But he’s a good player. Darrelle Revis is a great player. They have a great secondary. They’re one of the best defenses we’ve faced. We spend a lot of time preparing for them, and what they’re capable of doing over there. To shut down the Colts’ offense like they did is pretty impressive, because we know how good that offense is. We’re going to be ready to play,” said Brady.

The two teams will square off for the third time this season this coming weekend and the real question is whether the Jets will even be able to compete. They are a nine-point underdog and the last time these two teams met up the Jets were slaughtered 45-3.

A lot of Jets fans are wondering why the Jets talk so much trash considering they don’t have the results that their counterparts have on their resume. On top of that, it tends to fire up their opponents when they engage in off-field battles of words.

The Patriots are at home and rested. They’ve been destroyed in the media by the Jets but they’ll do their talking on the field.?
